This section explains the policies and proceedures here at the library. If you have any questions, please call us at (856) 848-9149.

Anyone living in Deptford Township may apply for a card. If you are applying for the first time, there is no charge. If you are replacing a lost or stolen card, there is a $3.00 charge. To fill out an application, you must bring 2 forms of identification with a Deptford Township address on it. You should also bring the name, address, and phone number of someone that knows you but does not live with you. This serves as a backup in case we need to get in touch with you. Typical waiting time to get a card is 24 to 48 hours. However, if time permits, we can make up a card the same day.
Acceptable forms of id: driver’s license (photo or non-photo), vehicle registration, vehicle insurance, mail, checkbook, bank statement, etc. Please note that if you have a photo driver’s license, we can accept that alone without the need of a second form of id.
If you do not live in Deptford Township, you must go to your home library for a card. If you do not know what your home library is, click on the link located on our home page to find out. You will need your address, zip code, and county.

Videos and DVDs:
We have a growing collection of Videos and DVDs for you to choose from. Loaning period is 48 hours and the fee is 50 cents per video or DVD. Each day that a video or DVD is overdue, there is a fine of $3.00. When you return your videos or dvds, you must return them in the building and not in the drop box outside or you will be fined $5.00.

Computers:
We have 8 computers with Internet access and printing capabilities available for the public. For each of these computers, there is a time limit of 1 hour. If you wish to use a computer, you must leave a form of ID at the main desk. If you leave a driver’s license, please give us a phone number in case you leave without it. There are no outside media/storage devices of any kind permitted. This includes floppy disks, CDs, portable zip drives, thumb/flash drives, etc. This is a way that we can keep the computers free of viruses, spy ware, ad ware, etc. If you need to save something, we sell floppy disks for $1.00. The disk must be kept at the main desk if you want to use it at the library at a later time. If it is taken outside of the library, it cannot be used at the computers. The use of any version of AOL Instant Messenger for downloading is no longer permitted.
Please keep all noise to a minimal. There are other patrons who may be doing something important and need to concentrate. The use of foul language is NOT permitted. If you are caught, appropriate action will be taken.
Please do not adjust the monitors; moving them can cause problems for the computer system. Do not write or scribble on the mouse pads. They are library property and are not to be used as note pads. If you need to write something down, we have boxes with scrap paper at the computer area. Please leave the keyboards on the table in front of you. Do not put them on your lap or use them for any other purpose than computer use.
If, when you are on the computer, encounter a problem, do not attempt to fix it on your own. Please alert a staff member and we will do what we can to fix the problem in a timely manner. There is no food or drink allowed. If you have something to eat or drink, please finish it prior to entering the library.
There are NO requests for computers as well as no hopping to other computers. If you wish to move, alert a staff member and we will make the decision on whether to move you or not. Please do not shut off the computers. Doing so may cause serious problems for the computer’s system. Lastly, please do not unplug or play with the computer cords or printer cables. This may also cause problems for our system.
Printing fees: 50 cents for each color page & 15 cents for each black and white page.

Fax and Photocopies:
Fax machine charges:
Outgoing: $3.00 for the first page. $1.00 each additional page.
Incoming: $1.00 for the first 10 incoming page.
Photocopier fees: 15 cents per copy.

ILLs and Intercircuit Loans:
If you are looking for a particular book and find that it is not in our collection, there are three options that we can offer. First, we can look in the other libraries that we participate with. If you choose this option, you can either travel to that library and get it OR have it sent to this library. For a list of the libraries that we participate with, click on the link provided: LOGIN. Second, we can interlibrary loan it. We can look in libraries all around the United States for the item and have it sent here. Third, you can fill out a request slip so we can purchase the item for our collection. Whichever of these options you choose from, we will call you when the item comes in. You have three days to come pick it up but if you need longer or change your mind, call us and we will hold it for you. If you do not call or notify us, we will send the item back or give it to the next patron. We usually do not like to say when the book will come in because we do not want to guarantee what we cannot predict.

Meeting Room:
If you have a meeting/event that you would like held in our meeting room, come in and fill out an application. Our director will review and approve the application. Once it has been approved, the secretary will call and set up a day and time for you to use the meeting room.

Display Case:
Do you have something that you would like to put in our display case? Requests are being taken each month. If you have something you would like to share with us, please call to see if a month is free. Please share a part of yourself with us, your community, and your fellow library members.
